Home of the

DealsGuy

I have created this Home page to serve as a central site between my readers, the editors and myself, not to mention my many friends outside of user groups. I hope it serves the purpose.

Articles of interest:

The July and August issue of Ron Klair's column about NASA space activities are on this page.

The Aug. column is his latest one. Ron is a retired NASA engineer and his monthly columns are very interesting.

I posted two new vendor announcements on my vendor announcements page. 9/1/10.

For those of you who are looking for my article about how trade shows are created, its finally finished, but it is lengthy. click here and you'll find it.

I also have a temporary announcement from LapLink for a discount on a new product for a short time on my Announcements page, Not the New announcements page.

Wonderful oceanfront Realestate opportunity: We have decided to sell our favorate hangout on the beach. We will shed a tear doing that, but we are seldom able to use it any more and it is time for us to give it up. Click here to see a description of it along with pictures. Maintaining two homes on a pension is getting tougher.

The pages for the deals columns and their descriptions are usually updated by the first of the month.

The O'reilly newsletter is now updated as of 8/27/10. I posted the August 2010 newsletter on 8/27/10 about Ebooks. There were pictures, but I couldn't get them on the page.

New product announcements has been updated as of 7/31/10. There is only one worth while and it is posted on the Vendor Announcement Page for Jan. Feb. Mar. Apr., May, June and July 2010 pages. It is all one page and the new announcement is at the bottom of that page. These are announcements that do not offer a discount, or that I felt were not appropriate for the DealsGuy column. Sorry the pages are not that fancy, but I only do this when I have some free time. I hope you enjoy them, although I never hear from anybody who looks at them.

Attention: I doubt my readers will be interested in these, but I have posted some new decanter pictures on the pages with Jim Beam Decanters for sale.

I was getting no place with this Web site project until a fellow user group member from Central Florida Computer Society, of which I am also a member, spent time on the phone to get me started. Please be quick to assist fellow user group members who need your help. Remember, we are "users helping users."

This Web site is published with Adobe PageMill thanks to Adobe's past support of APCUG, and regional groups such as FACUG. I received it from Adobe while attending a presentation during a Florida Assn. of Computer Users Groups Conference several years ago. Adobe has only limmited user group support these days.

There may be DEALS posted on the announcements page without warning from time to time because of the time frame to include them in my monthly column. Occasionally, an offer will only be available here. These situations will be rare, but sometimes I find them when time is running out and they only have a limited time span. Some of my readers also send me info.

This site is also the home of "Greater Orlando Computer User Group"
